This is absolutely great and one of my favorite subjects of all time. I used to sketch Teela a lot but always loved Cat-Ra as well... you've inspired me to start that up again. Do you remember the Golden Girls (not the little old ladies)? I think I may revisit them as well! Thank you again for the inspiration!
Oops pardon me, apparently it was a line of toys and a TV show released in 1985 called "Golden Girl and the Guardians of the Gemstone" (not to be confused with Marvel's Golden Girl). Perhaps this line was Galoob's answer to She-Ra? But hey, as an adventure loving little girl I was was not about to discriminate against bad ass female warriors because of their brand. I'd better start those sketches - too much cheesetastic awesomeness going to waste! [link]
This drawing is great, I love the style, the perspective and the pose is awesome. That said, I would have loved to see more shadows. The clothes don't have any... I like it a whole lot, love you style!
Ah, I see now. The top left background area I think would drive that point more across then, had it been left blank-white instead of having that slightly grey-ish hue blending. It's a great result nonetheless, and Yes, art is quite open to interpretation. I fancy Math a lot, it's solid or objective quality has zero doubts and low uncertainty, yet art has that nice advantage of free expression and creative exploration. Both art and math, necessary elements to life though.
I'll stop yammerin, a great Catra piece, keep up the good work!
